LITERACY SPECIALIST

DESCRIPTION

Certification as a Literacy Specialist empowers candidates to assess and develop the literacy potential of students grades P-12. Through research, data collection, assessment, and practice candidates will learn to effectively identify and address the literacy needs of students.

Upon successful completion of program requirements, candidates will be recommended for certification in Literacy Specialist Grades P-12 as an Endorsement only or a Master of Arts in Education program.

Endorsement: 18 hours

Master’s Degree: 33 hours

 

The Endorsement is an 18 credit hour program. The Master’s program is a 33 credit hour program. There are no in-person class meetings. Assignments and project implementation can be based on your current or desired employment.
